At least 300 Boko Haram terrorists have been killed in airstrikes in Borno State, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar has said.

Abubakar made the disclosure after commissioning two Air Force projects in the state.

“We have intensified airstrikes in recent weeks and have had outstanding results,” Abubakar said according to Sahara Reporters.

“On the 19th of this month [August], 300 terrorists were killed by our night operations,” he added.

Abubakar also urged members of Boko Haram to surrender while they still had the chance.

Meanwhile, the sect has accused the Air Force of killing some of the abducted Chibok girls during one of its airstrikes.

A Boko Haram terrorist made the allegation, which has been denied by the Air Force, via a video released on August 14, 2016.

The insurgent appeared along with 50 of the abducted girls and demanded the release of detained Boko Haram members in exchange for the girls.
