Boko Haram terrorists have killed nine people in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, reports say.

“Today (Sunday) at about 2:00 am (0100 GMT), suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Mailari village, (in) Konduga LGA (local government area),” state police spokesman, Aderemi Opadokun said.

“Nine persons were reported killed while 10 were injured. The injured victims are now being treated at UMTH (University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital,” he added while speaking to journalists.

The Nigerian military has claimed a string of victories over Boko Haram recently recapturing Banki in Borno from the sect.

The military successes were however denied by Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau who called Nigeria’s armed forces and President Muhammadu Buhari liars for saying they were almost rid of the sect.

Buhari has given the military three months to end the insurgency in the country.
