The video comes about a week after the sect’s leader, Abubakar Shekau appeared in a clip looking weak and sick.

Shekau was said to have urged his followers to surrender and also stated that the end had come for him.

The latest video was released on Friday, April 1, 2016, according to AFP.

“You should know that there is no truce, there is no negotiations, there is no surrender,” an unidentified masked man said.

“This war between us will not stop,” he added.

The video was also said to have featured nine Boko Haram fighters in an undisclosed desert location.

The masked man also reportedly denied reports of Shekau’s demotion saying that the Boko Haram leader is still the head of the “West African wing.”

Shekau’s reappearance in the earlier video was surprising due to his long absence from the public eye.

Before the release of the clip, the Boko Haram leader was last heard from in March 2015 when he announced the sect’s allegiance to ISIS.
