Military saves 30 hostages

They pounded the terrorists in the Borno central town of Dikwa, and released 30 women, children and babies who were held hostage by the terror group.

The military’s recent onslaught against the terror group, Boko Haram, is yielding results.

Following the morale boosting visit of the new Army Chief, Gen. Buratai, the soldiers seem to have gained momentum.

Sources say they pounded the terrorists in the Borno central town of Dikwa, and released 30 women, children and babies who were held hostage by the terror group.

The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations (APR) and spokesperson for the 7 Division of Nigerian Army, Maiduguri,  Colonel Tukur Gusau said “As a result of ongoing operations  under the aegis of Operation Lafiya Dole to clear Dikwa and its environs from Boko Haram, troops of 7 Division on Monday rescued 30 persons in Kwayabe  and Wufe wards in Dikwa Local Government.”

Adding that they also found “a training shed inside the vandalised and looted palace of the Shehu of Dikwa where new Boko Haram recruits were being taught weapon handling and engagement of aircraft.”
