Chad's President, Idriss Deby has revealed details about the new leader of Boko Haram who supposedly replaced the now-absent Abubakar Shekau.
Chadian President reveals details about sect’s new leader
Deby made the disclosure on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, while speaking about Nigeria’s plans to negotiate with the sect during a ceremony to commemorate Chad’s 55 year of independence.

He said:
“There is someone apparently called Mahamat Daoud who is said to have replaced Abubakar Shekau and he wants to negotiate with the Nigerian government. For my part, I would advise not to negotiate with a terrorist.”
The Nigerian government recently revealed that it had been approached by the sect in a bid to negotiate a peace agreement.
Deby, on his part, expressed optimism that the fight against Boko Haram would be finished “by the end of the year”.
