Cameroon hands over 2 suspected terrorists to Nigerian Army

112 people, comprising of eight men, 36 children and 68 women, were rescued from the insurgents in the joint operation carried out by the Nigerian Army and the Cameroonian forces.

Speaking on the development, the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman said “The cooperation with our neighbours has brought renewed vigour and is yielding fruitful result in the fight against the Boko Haram terrorists.”

Adding that “For instance, apart from recording tremendous success, troops of 26 Task Force Brigade, have married up with Cameroonian forces for joint operations in Kirawa junction.

“Although they have not met any of the terrorists in the axis of advance, they rescued eight men, 36 women and 68 children in the area.”

Usman  also said “To further consolidate the cordial relationship, the Commander of Cameroonian 1st Battalion, paid courtesy call on his counterpart, the Commanding Officer of 121 Task Force Battalion in Pulka.

“The visiting unit assisted with the demining of a section of the road between Kirawa Junction and Pulka and handed over two suspected Boko Haram terrorists to the Nigerian unit.”

You will recall that the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud revealed to attendees of a security conference in Germany on Sunday, February 14, 2016, that Boko Haram members are trained in his country.
