This was disclosed via a statement released by army spokesman, Colonel Tukur Gusau.

The statement reads:

“The Nigerian Army viewed this act of criminality as a well calculated attempt by some Boko Haram collaborators and sympathizers to bring to ridicule the successes recorded through the combined efforts of the army and the air force under Operation Lafiya Dole.”

“It has become imperative to alert the general public on the activities of such criminals. You are also requested to promptly report such criminals to the nearest military base or any other security agencies offices.”

The fuel supplier was identified as Bashir Ali and he reportedly confessed to delivering 3000 litres of petroleum products to the terrorists daily.
