Chief of Defence Staff tells protesters to stop wasting energy

General Olonishakin also said that the military is determined to ensure that Nigeria’s indivisibility is sacrosanct.

Olonishakin also said that the military is determined to ensure that Nigeria’s indivisibility is sacrosanct as earlier declared by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The CDS made the comments on Tuesday, September 20, while speaking to journalists in Makurdi, Benue state.

“To keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done. We will use all that we have on any person or group that goes contrary to this. We are using this opportunity to appeal and even warn all those, who are responsible for sabotage of critical infrastructure to channel their energy to developmental issues for the nation,” he said according to Vanguard.

“And even those, who are also clamouring for secession, I think I want to advise them to channel their effort toward the development of the nation. The indivisibility of this nation is sacrosanct just like the president – Muhammadu Buhari said, and we in the military are poised to ensure that is achieved,” he added.

Olonishakin further urged Nigerians to work towards maintaining the peace in the country.
