Lawmaker vows to reject Land Cruiser SUV from Senate

Murray-Bruce, who known for his outspokenness on Social Media took to Twitter on Wednesday, April 21, and stated his resolve to personally refuse the SUV.

The Upper Chamber had on Tuesday, April 19, dismissed reports that it bought 108 SUVs, clarifying that only 36 vehicles at N36.5m each were purchased, and meant to be distributed among Senators of the 36 states of the Federation.

”For the avoidance of doubt, I did not and will not accept any SUV. The only SUV, I, Ben Murray-Bruce will accept is a made in Nigeria car.”

However, mixed feelings have trailed the Senator's statement, with some supporting his move while some backlashing it, questioning his whereabouts when the Senate concluded plans to buy the vehicles.
