Those affected, including general managers and deputy general managers, were said to have been handed their termination letters on Wednesday, October 12.
It was gathered that at least 10 general managers were also demoted. Their promotion was said to be undeserving.
Report said the shake-up is just the first batch of government's move to reposition FAAN.
Those familiar with the matter said the Federal Government had faulted certain irregularities at FAAN, which include the engagement of about 40 general managers, the creation of many directorates that brought about duplication of duties and raised the authority’s monthly overhead to an estimated N800 million.
The current economic crisis in the country was also said to be a trigger for the government to reduce the number of workers at the institution.
Some of the general manager and their deputies lacked the requisite qualification to hold the position, report said.
Many of them were said to have left the university about 10 years ago and could not be fit for the office.
