According to reports, properties belonging to South-East indigenes along the Ahmadu Bello way have been destroyed.
An eyewitness who narrated the incident to Daily Post via phone said “I barely escaped with my life as we speak. I don’t event know where my parents are.
“Many Igbos boys have been injured. Tell the police to come to our aid.”
Tensions heightened in the South-East recently when soldiers allegedly stormed the country home of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
There were also reports of clashes between Hausas and Igbos in Rivers state.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has however called for a peaceful resolution of the situation in the South-East.
