Red Cross promises to facilitate relocation of displaced persons

Buba assured that the society will continue to partner with government and other humanitarian organisations to improve the lives of the people.

The Secretary of the society in Yobe, Mr Zabu Buba, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu.

``As we celebrate the World Red Cross day today, the society in Yobe is dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance to victims of disaster across the state.

``In Yobe, we will work to contribute to the relocation of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) back home.

``The Red Cross is dedicated to the safe return of the displaced persons, their resettlement and rehabilitation process," he said.

The secretary urged people to assist one another for the development of the state, adding, ``we have commenced educating people on the need to be our brothers’ keeper."

Buba assured that the society will continue to partner with government and other humanitarian organisations to improve the lives of the people.
