Embattled judges, Sylva Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro have voluntarily vacated their position and court proceedings in the apex court.
According to a report by Punch Newspaper, the two Justices would no longer take part in any of the apex court proceedings or case till they have been found not guilty of allegations levelled against them.
It was further reported that outgoing Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, made this known to a delegation of the Nigerian Bar Association while ruling out the call for the judges suspension.
Meanwhile the National Judicial Council and the Chief Justice of Nigeria had insisted that they did not have the power to suspend the affected judges.
Ngwuta and Okoro, were among some judiciary officers that were recently arrested by the Department of State Services on corruption allegations between October 7, 2016 and October 8, 2016.
