Governor says workers who want to go on strike don’t have sense

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has condemned workers in the state for threatening to go on strike.

Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Amosun also said that the workers were being unreasonable in their demands.

He made the comments on Wednesday, October 19, during a town hall meeting in Abeokuta, the state capital.

“We all know this, yet some are not using their brains. They don’t have brains and they don’t know what they are doing,” he said according to Premium Times.

“They don’t have sense. I cannot give what I don’t have. Teachers alone collect N2 billion monthly. If you want to join politics go and resign, you can then become card carrying member of political parties, you can start printing posters if you want to contest,” Mr. Amosun said.

The governor also reportedly said that his administration would crush any civil servant who wants to run down the government and he also threatened that no work would mean no pay for the workers.

Workers in Ogun had threatened to embark on a strike on Thursday, October 20, if the government failed to meet their demands.
