President's wife donates relief materials to IDPs in Borno

She explained that the gesture was part of the Future Assured Humanitarian Activities of the Mrs Buhari to assist the poor in the society.

Mrs Buhari was represented in Maiduguri by the wife of governor of Borno, Hajiya Nana Shettima, who is also the Chairperson of the Distribution of the relief materials.

``God loves charity givers and givers never lack. This I believe should serve as a word of expression to people who give the little they have to the plight of the needy.

``The wife of the president and President Muhammadu Buhari have shown to us true compassion and political will towards the plight of our people who have passed through great hardship.

``We also commend the president for bringing relative peace to our dear state. People are now going about their socio-economic activities without any fear.

``I therefore urged you all to be your brother’s keeper in the spirit of Ramadan,’’ she said.

Mrs Buhari appealed to traders, businessmen and women to make life more meaningful for the poor and under-privileged members of the society
