3 allegations against new Ooni of Ife

A human rights group is contesting Ogunwusi’s selection due to an alleged Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) case against him.

 

Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has been appointed as the new Ooni of Ife to replace late Oba Okunade Sijuwade.

However, a human rights group is contesting Ogunwusi’s selection due to an alleged Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) case against him.

Three allegations levelled against the Ooni-elect by the group, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), are:

Ogunwusi’s appointment as Ooni of Ife was announced by Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola in October.

The Ooni-elect is currently undergoing a 21-day isolation periodas part of his coronation rites.
