Okezie Ikpeazu Abia Governor extends curfew to Friday

The Abia Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has extended the dusk to dawn curfew in the state, to Friday, September 15, 2017.

Following recent security challenges in the state, the Governor declared a curfew that was supposed to end on Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Speaking on the new development, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Enyinnaya Appolos called on residents to be law abiding.

Appolos also said that the Governor was not happy with reports of harassment by security personel.

Governor Ikpeazu of Abia also urged the Hausa/Fulani community in Abia to be calm, adding that the situation in the state will be brought under control.

The governor noted that the security agencies are working to ensure the restoration of peace in Abia, adding that he had moved around Aba to confirm normalcy in the city.

He attributed the incident to the influx of some non-resident miscreants who came into Aba to cause problems for the residents.

Meanwhile, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has condemned the alleged invasion of Nnamdi Kanu’s home by the Army.
