Kwara Gov hosts Nollywood stars, says entertainment is crucial

Players in the entertainment industry are stakeholders in governance as they play important roles in setting developmental agenda.

The Governor noted that entertainment serves as a platform for disseminating crucial information and positive values.

The Governor was speaking on Thursday as he played host to Nollywood actors and actresses led by movie producer, Lasun Ray, at the Government House, Ilorin.

According to Ahmed, players in the entertainment industry are stakeholders in governance as they play important roles in setting developmental agenda.

The Governor said it will require all hands on deck from stakeholders in different sectors, including entertainment, to bring Nigeria to an enviable level.

Ahmed commended the Nollywood Stars for contributing their quota to not just moulding society, but serving as role models for the young.

The Governor pledged his administration’s continued partnership with the industry, noting that entertainment is a veritable medium to disseminate information to the public and promote positive values.

Earlier in his address, the leader of the team, Mr Ray, said the crew came to appreciate the Governor Ahmed-led administration for his strong support for the industry particularly in the areas of arts and culture.

He also commended the Governor for the good works carried out in the state by the administration especially in the area of infrastructure.
