Northern youths are playing with fire – Fani-Kayode

Ex-militant leader, Asari Dokubo also called on Igbos leaving in the North to defend themselves in case of any attack.

This is in response to a 90-day ultimatum issued to Igbos by the Coalition of Northern Youths (CNY) to leave the region.

Fani-Kayode also said that the action of the group might lead to a civil war.

According to Punch, the former minister also called on the Northern elite to caution their youths.

Fani-Kayode said if any Igbo is killed, there will be mass retaliation in the South.

He said “Any pogrom or slaughter of Igbo in the North will lead to a swift, immediate and devastating retaliation throughout the South.

“The Northern youths must be warned and told in very clear terms. This is not 1966.

“Those that gave the Igbo quit notice in the North are playing with fire and that fire will consume them.

“They are plunging us into darkness and we shall enter that darkness together. Nigeria belongs to us all.

“I urge the core Muslim Northern elders and leaders to caution their youths before they spark off a series of events and crisis that may not only lead to a second civil war but will also lead to the end of Nigeria.

“This time around the Igbo are not alone. An attack on them is an attack on every Southerner and every Middle-Belter. And such an attack will have grave and unfathomable consequences.”

Also, ex-militant leader, Asari Dokubo has called on Igbos leaving in the North to defend themselves in case of any attack.
