11th Sierra Leonean doctor tests positive

Dr Dauda Koroma is the eleventh Sierra Leonean health worker to contract Ebola, which has claimed over 6000 lives this year.

Sierra Leone is suffering the worst of the current Ebola outbreak as yet another of the nation’s doctors has tested positive for the disease.

Dr Dauda Koroma is the eleventh Sierra Leonean health worker to contract Ebola, which has claimed over 6000 lives this year.

According to Sierra Leone’s Chief Medical Officer, Brima Kargbo, Koroma tested positive on Tuesday, December 2, and is receiving treatment at a military hospital in Freetown.

The disease-ravaged country has lost 7 doctors to Ebola even as the World Health Organization (WHO) warns that cases of the disease are on the rise in certain areas of Sierra Leone.
