'We've resolved to construct a flyover bridge in Pen Cinema', Governor Ambode says

A flyover bridge is going to be constructed in Pen Cinema, Agege, Lagos state.

Using his Twitter account, he said, "to solve the traffic grid lock challenge in Pen Cinema, we've resolved to construct a fly over bridge. PenCinema".

This news was formally announced at a joint ministerial press briefing at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa on August 17, 2016.

There, the State’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ganiyu Johnson, gave details of the construction, adding that construction would begin after the conclusion of preliminary works.

"The Pen-Cinema flyover has been a recurring decimal in this state to solve the gridlock there. This flyover will bring to three the number of flyover undertaken by this government after the Abule-Egba and Ajah flyovers which are on course.

The project will also accommodate a generous walkway, similar to the Ikorodu Expressway and the bridge will have a free flow all the way to Agunbiade.

Johnson also said that the project, would be completed within 18 to 24 months.

This comes after Lagos lawmakers called on the state governor to construct a flyover across Pen Cinema, on Thursday, 30th July, 2015.
