Readers blame Governor Ambode for increase in traffic

Readers say traffic got worse after Akinwunmi Ambode became the governor of Lagos state.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

It is old news that Lagos state is suffering from serious traffic congestion especially on Third Mainland Bridge, and Apapa.

The traffic has forced people to trek rather than drive or use public transport.

Based on all of these, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos Chapter, is blaming Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

"“What we are saying now is that all the problems in the state such as the worsening traffic situation in the state is a reflection of Governor ’s inability to manage the state."

Readers were asked who or what is to blame for the traffic congestions.

The following options were given:

  • Governor Ambode, because it started after he resumed office,
  • Trailers and trucks,
  • Purely coincidental.

55.5% blame Governor Ambode while 44.4% chose trailers and trucks as the cause of the increase of the traffic.

Regardless of who or what is to blame, the governor has found a solution, which is to buy three helicopters next month.

However, people are not responding positively to this solution.
