87.5% say water transportation will not solve traffic in Lagos

Majority of Pulse readers are disagreeing with Governor Ambode's key solution to traffic in Lagos state.

Water transportation

Last week, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode identified water transportation as the solution to the horrible traffic in Lagos state.

At the first annual stakeholders’ forum organised by the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), represented by the Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, the governor saidwater transport mode could really ease traffic.

He was backed by Prof. Olukayode Oyesiku, a professor of transport planning, who said the inability of the state government "to explore the use of waterways" is one of the causes of traffic-related problems in Lagos.

"To a particular extent, we must face the demand aspect, in terms of why do we have to build this. We need transportation integration."

Readers were asked if they agreed with this solution.

Unfortunately, 87.5%, majority disagreed, while the minority, 12.5% said yes.
