'Enforce traffic rules, regulations', residents of Lekki/Ajah beg
The residents of Lekki/Ajah are asking the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority to enforce traffic laws.
In a meeting with both parties, drivers and traders begged with the officials to enforce traffic laws and be strict about them.
Mr. Fowowe Eshinlokun, the Babaloja of Ajah Ultra-Mordern Market, specifically asked for stricter laws towards roadside traders and hawkers.
“I have been begging them to leave the roadside and come into the main market. The market was built for the benefit of all."
Mr. Taofiq Oluwa, the branch Chairman, Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers, Eti-Osa branch, blamed the constant traffic in that area on these street hawkers and pedestrians who failed to use footbridges.
According to The Punch, the meeting was tagged ‘Resolving Traffic Challenges in the Lekki/Ajah Area.’
