The Government of Plateau State has announced that it incurred a debt of N18bn during the eight-year tenure of outgoing Governor, Jonah Jang.

Badu made the clarification in response to insinuations made by All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in the state that a debt of N200 billion had been incurred by Jang’s administration.
The Commissioner stated further that the misinformation about the true measure of the state’s indebtedness was becoming a source of worry adding that the government had nothing to hide.
Badu explained that the Jang-led government had to borrow N48 billion to finance the execution of capital projects around the state.
