The Kano state Pension Fund Trustees in conjunction with Urban Shelter Limited have completed the construction of 108 housing units in Abuja.
Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso commissions housing scheme
The Promade Estate which consists of over 20 hectares of land owned by the Kano state government is also ongoing and consists of over 400 residential units and being executed at the cost of over N13 billion.
During the commissioning ceremony, the Kano state Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso said: “We are proud to mention that the land on which the 108 Durumi Housing project has been executed is Kano State Pension Fund Trustees’ contribution to the partnership agreement with Urban Shelter and that commensurate with its investment.”
Explaining why the houses were built in Abuja, he said that it was a form of investment, adding that the state Pension Fund Trustees have also completed housing projects in Kwankwasiyya, Amana and Bandirawo in Kano state.
He also said that “It is noteworthy that this project is not the only one between Kano State and the Urban Shelter Limited. The Promade Estate Lokogoma that consist of over 20 hectares of land owned by the Kano State Government is also ongoing and consists of over 400 residential units and being executed at the cost of over N13 billion. The project is expected to be worth about N20 Billion on completion.”
Our sources say the housing units comprise of 5 and 4 bedroom maisonettes, 4 bedrooms terraces and 3 bedroom blocks of apartments.
