Tesla Motors has a new rival in Turkey, as the nation is set to release an electric car soon.

The electric vehicle industry has a new member, Turkey.

As expected this new member is going after the biggest fish in the pond, Tesla Motors.

“Our car will be better and safer than Tesla’s car. While they need to establish charging stations, we will integrate the charging station into the car thanks to a developed engine which extends the car’s range,” he said.

However, Isik neglected to provided specific details while speaking to the Hurriyet Daily News.

Pulse can confirm, through Motorauthority, that the car will have a 1.0-liter 2-cylinder gasoline engine.

This electric car project is led by Turkey’s Scientific and Technical Research Council (TÜBİTAK), with additional help from National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS).

TÜBİTAK is also trying to work with which Bosch, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and other industry giants.
