The Motor Dealers Association of Nigeria (MODAN) is set to stop car theft with new tracker.

According to the national secretary of the association, Alhaji Sulaiman Ibrahim Kato, this will be done with the development of a database.
Speaking with the Daily Trust, Kato said this database will be used to trace stolen cars in the country, adding that it would be available to car dealers and their customers.

He mentioned benefits of creating this database, which included;
- reducing the high rate of stolen car cases,
- exposing car thieves and their gang leaders,
- ensure check and balances in importation of cars,
- maintain sanity in car businesses.
