Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has come up with new ways to stop traffic violations in 2017.

The Guardian reports that he has provided not one, but three good ways to check excessive speeding, track road safety offenders, and ensure the prosecution of violators.

Speaking at the decoration of FRSC’S newly promoted deputy and assistant corps marshals, Oyeyemi said, "An increase in mobile courts would also be witnessed countrywide and so would be mobile speed control to check excessive speeding along major road corridors.”

He also announced plans to ensure the heavy presence of officers on highways, establish 20 planned commands, improve logistics and recruit more personnel.

Moving on, the FRSC boss said cameras would be installed on all FRSC’s patrol vans because the agency is "worried by incessant knock-down of staff by rogue motorists.”

“The corps would deploy cameras in its vehicles to enable water tight prosecution of road traffic offenders. The Volkswagen Gulf and Opel Vectra commercial vehicle operators would also be in closer focus this year because their activities have become a negative narrative in the road sector,” he said.

The installment of cameras is as a result of the numerous attacks by motorists on FRSC officials.
