A few days ago, some NYPD officers spread some goodwill and cheer in the midst of traffic.
Kind-hearted officers hand out gifts in New York traffic
Some unsuspecting families were the lucky recipients of presents from the NYPD officers.
The officers handed out Christmas gifts to unsuspecting families.
According to NewsOne, the presents were from the Christmas donations given to the officers.
One of the kind-hearted officers, Capt. John Orellana, said the giveway happened because the precinct wanted to do something nice for the neighborhood.
He added that the station was also giving presents to children without Christmas gifts.
The lucky recipients shared their reactions on social media.
“I as nervous a little. I know my paperwork is good for the car. I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ But I really appreciate you guys coming out to the community and showing your support,” one driver said.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, what the hell did I do wrong?’ But I think this is a really nice gesture, especially with everything that’s been going on,” one woman said.
“It’s very awesome,” one child said.
