Adesua Etomi and Banky W share what makes "The Wedding Party" different. Banky W talks transition from music to movies.

During an exclusive interview with Pulse Nigeria, Banky W and Adesua Etomi who play Dozie and Dunni in the romantic comedy "The Wedding Party" spoke about the movie, what viewers can expect and what makes the movie special.

On what makes the project different, AMVCA award winner, Adesua Etomi said, "What I try not to do first of all is to compare my projects. I love every project that I am."

"But, I think what's beautiful about "The Wedding Party" is the fact that even though it is made for Nigerians and it talks about a Nigerian wedding, anyone can identify with "The Wedding Party."

"It cuts across different nations, and it was evident when we took it to the Toronto International Film Festival. Even those who were not Nigerian could identify with the story."

Sharing what viewers should expect from the movie, Banky W said, "expect a fantastic film. A very enjoyable film.

"A very fun film. You will see comedy, you will see romance, you will see fun, you will see pretty much everything that you can imagine under the sun in terms of chaos, fun, comedy, good times and bad times."

Banky W who has made special appearances in productions like "Gidi Blues" and "Jenifa Diaries," also spoke about making a transition from the music industry into the movie industry.

The comedy movie is currently the biggest opening weekend in Nollywood after grossing 36 million naira in three days.

The romantic comedy stars Adesua Etomi as Dunni Coker, Banky Was Dozie, Alibaba and Sola Sobowale as Dunni’s parents, and Ireti Doyle and Richard Mofe-Damijo as Dozie’s parents.

"The Wedding Party" also stars Zainab Balogun, Enyinna Nwigwe, Frank Donga, Saka, AY, Ikechukwu, Beverly Naya, Emma OhMaGod, Lepacious Bose amongst others.
