"Skinny Girl in Transit" makes a fun watch that shouldn't be missed

"Skinny Girl in Transit" is a memorable series with funny, quirky and relatable characters, and that does the trick.

Skinny Girl in Transit

At least, that was before viewers were left heartbroken with the caption "season 2 finale" on Friday, July 22, 2016.

The season starts with Tiwa in the gym, giving us an update of everything that happened in three weeks while she was away. During her narrative, a handsome looking guy bumps into her, and they have an altercation. Trust Tiwa to even call him a 'moron.'

She gets to work that morning, and realize that she has a new boss. Yes, it's what you are thinking. Her new boss turns out to be Mide, the guy she got into a fight with earlier same morning.

We are also introduced to Hadiza, the delusional colleague, who is vain, and doesn't like anyone who rocks better designers than her.

We also meet Didi, the sarcastic and witty colleague, who can't stand Hadiza and her excesses.

In season two, Tiwa and Femi finally broke up after she had a meeting with her ex Kola, and lied about it to Femi. Femi replaced her with another girl, and took the 'girl' out of the 'girlfriend,'  introducing Tiwa as his 'friend.'

A relationship between Tiwa and her boss Mide is one we are rooting for. The two have a chemistry which should totally be explored. From their 'I hate you days'  to 'we are friends' days, they effortlessly interpret their scenes. But then, she had to friend-zone him when he finally spoke up about his feelings.

We bet that would form part of the plot in the upcoming third season of the web series. It would be fun to watch Tiwa and Mide work together, knowing how they feel about each other. We also hope a serious love triangle is explored.

The performances in "Skinny Girl in Transit" is worth applauding. The number one scene stealer would have to be Ngozi Nwosu as Mama Tiwa, who with ease, packages and delivers a typical Nigerian mum which 70 in every 100 Nigerians can totally relate to.

Hadiza is another character viewers can easily connect with. She comes off as real, maybe a little bit dramatic, but an interesting watch. From her mannerism to dialogue, the character Hadiza will definitely go down as one of Ini Dima-Okojie's  most memorable performances.

The other actors do not fail to bring in top notch performances, which helps "SGIT" progress with scenes that bring great guffaw from viewers.

On the flip side, some episodes dragged on far too long that even the humorous lines couldn't save them. There were also scenes with continuity issues.

On the whole, "Skinny Girl in Transit" is a memorable series with funny, quirky and relatable characters, and that, does the trick.
