Over the years, Nigerians have patronized more of comedy movies than any other genre.

"We run the risk of becoming a only comic nation and that's bad. Nigeria needs to show love to diverse genres of film,"Steve Gukas said at the Nolly Thursdays screening of his movie  "93 Days."

The highest grossing Nollywood movie ever is the comedy movie "30 Days in Atlanta." The top two highest grossing Nollywood movies of 2016 are currently comedy movies titled "A Trip to Jamaica" and "Wives to Jamaica."
