Actress proves she was offered the Cookie Lyon role in 'Empire'

Ocar-winning actress Mo’Nique proves she was originally offered the role of Cookie Lyon, played by Taraji P. Henson, in Lee Daniel’s hit series Empire.

Actress and Comedian, Mo’Nique, revealed mails to prove that director Lee Daniels actually offered her the Cookie Lyon character on Fox' Empire.

She revealed the Emails after Daniels allegedly claimed Mo’Nique was never considered for the role of Cookie.

In an interview with Sway in the Morning, Mo’Nique brought proof that she was indeed offered the role of Cookie.

Her proof came in the form of an email thread between her and Daniels’ team.

In an interview with  Hollywood Reporter, the actress who received an Academy Award for her role in the movie 'Precious', said she was blackballed after Oscar win.
