Movie featuring Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monáe gets new release date

Based on the book of the same name by Margot Lee Shetterly, "Hidden Figures" stars Taraji P. Henson, Dorothy Vaughan and Janelle Monáe.

The movie which was originally set for a January 13 release, will now premiere on January 6, 2017.

The Oscars hopeful also stars Glen Powell Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, and Aldis Hodge.

Plot

The film recounts the story of the African-American mathematician Katherine Johnson and her two colleagues, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, who helped NASA catch up in the Space Race. Using their calculations, John Glenn became the first American astronaut to make a complete orbit of the Earth.
