Ed Sheeran's role in season 7 revealed

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is coming for Arya Stark in the seventh season of HBO fantasy drama, "Game of Thrones."

This was revealed by the show’s creators, David Benioff and DB Weiss, who said they had been trying to get Sheeran because Maisie Williams was a fan.

In a recent interview, the Shape of You singer revealed his role in the anticipated season, confirming that he will only appear in one scene.

In the scene, Sheeran sings for Maisie Williams' Arya Stark.

"I just do a scene with Maisie," Sheeran said. "I sing a song and then she goes, 'Oh, that's a nice song.'

Recently released season 7 photos show the characters in their new costumes. It also shows Cersei Lannister sitting pretty tight on the throne with her brother and lover Jaime Lannister by her side.

Unlike past seasons which had 10 episodes, the upcoming season will have seven episodes, while the eighth which is expected to be the final season will have six episodes.

The seventh season of "Game of Thrones" makes its debut on July 16, 2017.
