Actor quits Enzo Ferrari biopic over health concerns

According to several reports, the actor is worried he won't be able gain the weight required to play Enzo Ferrari, within the required time.

undefinedhas dropped out from the upcoming Michael Mann's Enzo Ferrari biopic.

According to new report by Deadline, the 41-year-old Academy Award winner has quit because he won't be able to gain the weight required to play the Italian car designer.

The report further states that the actor began the weight gain journey, but wouldn't be ready before the start date of  2016 spring.

In 2004, Bale lost over 60 pounds to play Trevor Reznik: the emaciated insomniac in "The Machinist."

Enzo Ferrari was born in Modena on February 18th 1898 and died on August 14th 1988. He devoted his entire life to designing and building sports cars and, of course, to the track.

The movie which will follow the rise of the Ferrari as a luxury vehicle, will will be set in the 1950s when Enzo was also in his 50s.

The upcoming movie will be shopped at the upcoming Venice and Toronto film festivals.

Bale and Mann last worked together on 2009's Public Enemies,  which had Bale play FBI agent Melvin Purvis.
