This is coming on the heels of the rally led by Wike to protest the involvement of two police officers in the just concluded Rivers rerun election.

The APC members also said they are holding the rally to also condemn the killing of their members allegedly by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to Daily Post, the protesters also accused Governor Wike of soiling the integrity of the election which held on Saturday, December 10, 2016.

They said “Governor Wike compromised and indulged in bribery/corruption, which subverted the true will of the people, and resulted to a very poor conduct of the rerun election by INEC, as clearly exposed in the trending audio recording of Nyesom Wike’s conversation with INEC officials.”

You will recall that SaharaReporters posted an audio recording in which Governor Wike purportedly threatened to kill an INEC official.

The Rivers state government however dismissed the recording, describing it as an attempt by the APC to blackmail Governor Nyesom Wike.
