MDAs struggle to comply with directive on treasury single account

Following the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari last week and a follow-up memo from the Head of Service, Mr. Danladi Kisali, on the remittance of all government revenue to the Treasury Single Account (TSA) with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), investigations by THISDAY have shown that several ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of the federal government were yet to comply with the directive by the weekend.

Okonjo-Iweala denies alleged diversion of China-Exim-bank loan

The former Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has debunked media reports that a substantial part of the $1.005 billion loan from the China Exim-Bank obtained for the construction of a standard gauge rail line linking Lagos and Kano was diverted under the immediate-past administration.

Concessionary pilgrim exchange rate costs Nigeria N3.9 billion

The economy may be losing a whopping N3.96 billion to the concessionary exchange rate of N160/$ offered by the Federal Government for the sale of Personal Travel Allowance (PTA) to 66,000 pilgrims from all the states of the federation, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the armed forces in this year’s hajj operations.

700 NNPC staff to go as stakeholders list conditions for efficiency

There are strong indications that at least 700 more staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)  will be relieved of their posts by the Presidency and management.
