Governor not responsible for my travails

"What happened when I made that allegation can best be described as an unfortunate action in a moment of anger over my suspension by the House," Abubakar said.

Gov. Jibrilla not responsible for my travails - Adamawa Lawmaker

Assemblyman Abdulrahaman Abubakar (APC-Mubi South), Adamawa House of Assembly, on Tuesday exonerated Gov. Muhammadu Jibrilla from being responsible for his (Abubakar) travails.

Abubakar said in a statement issued in Yola that his three months suspension by the House was purely a legislative matter that has nothing to do with the executive.

The lawmaker explained that earlier claim by him that the governor, who came from the same constituency with him,was after him was made in error.

He therefore regretted any embarrassment the weighty allegation might have caused the governor.

He reiterated his commitment to rule of law and respect for the governor as leader of the party in the state.

"I also want to commend the governor for the roads, hospital, school and market projects in Mubi and to say that the people of my constituency have never had it so good," Abubakar said.

He commended the people of his constituency for their concern over his suspension and urged them to continue to have faith in God that things would normalise very soon.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Abubakar was suspended by his colleagues in November last year for alleged improper dressing and criticising the resolution which approved virement request in 2015 budget for the executive. (NAN)
