For Magu, the Senate rejected his nomination and confirmation over security reasons made available to the Upper Chamber on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
For Babachir Lawal, Senators Dino Melaye and Solomon Adeola had called for Lawal’s resignation over misuse of funds for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the North-East.
Though the SGF had vehemently denied the allegations, ThisDay reported that the name of Agriculture minister, Audu Ogbeh has popped up as a possible candidate to replace Lawal.
Here are two other people who may replace Magu and SGF, Lawal.
1. Nuhu Ribadu
So former EFCC czar, Nuhu Ribadu pops up; defects to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC); begins to point accusing fingers at some people who "frustrated" his anti-corruption fight and you think it is mere coincidence? Well, think again.
With the current "change of music" in Magu's club, Ribadu may just end up in his old shoes to complete the "good job" he started.
2. Adams Oshiomhole
“It will be a pity to waste his energy by him () retiring,"President during a visit to the palace of the new Oba of Benin Monday, November 7, 2016.
The President continued: "I hope there will be a higher assignment for him to do more for the nation. I congratulate the governor for his hard work; Oshiomhole is a hard working governor. We will need his services in Abuja.
"You have served two terms and you are about to leave. You deserve a place in history. I hope the APC will look for a place for you because your service for the country is far from over," Buhari added.
If the SGF is indicted, President Buhari's "prophecy" on former Edo state governor may come through.
Till then, Nigerians are watching as events unfold.
