Senate to continue EFCC boss’ probe

This is coming on the heels of a letter purportedly written by the Federal Ministry of Justice, ordering the EFCC into allegations that the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde.

The Senate has hinted that the probe of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss, Ibrahim Lamorde will continue after the ministerial screening.

This was revealed to Punch Newspapers, by the Chairman, Senate ad-hoc committee on media and publicity, Senator Dino Melaye.

Punch Newspapers reports that Melaye said “There is a petition against the EFCC boss before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions. Further action was stalled because of the ongoing ministerial screening especially with the active involvement of the committee in the screening.”

This is coming on the heels of a letter purportedly written by the Federal Ministry of Justice, ordering the EFCC into allegations that the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde laundered about N1trillion in funds recovered from corrupt individuals by the agency.
