Buhari, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, while addressing Niger Delta stakeholders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said "We are determined to make life comfortable and affordable to all Nigerians. If anybody has a country to go to, let him go, we will stay here and salvage our country.”

IPOB also expressed hope that Buhari will soon release their leader, Nnamdi Kanu and other members who were arrested for agitating for a Biafra nation.

A statement jointly signed by Emma Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Iroanya, reads: “Buhari needs to come to terms with the fact that IPOB will not leave any part of Biafraland, from the plains of Idomal to the shorelines of Opobo Kingdom, to become a conquered territory like the Yoruba-owned Ilorin, which today is under a caliphate rule answerable to the Sultan of Sokoto and not the Ooni of Ife.”

The group further stated that the Biafra movement is a train that cannot be stopped, no matter the opposition.

IPOB also accused President Buhari of planning with Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, to delete the Radio Biafra page from the social media platform.
