2 female suicide bombers die in failed attack

The suspects were killed after one of them detonated her suicide vest while being interrogated by soldiers.

The suspects were killed after one of them detonated her suicide vest while being interrogated by soldiers on the outskirts of the capital.

This was disclosed via a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer in Borno, ASP Victor Isuku.

The statement reads:

“At about 2030hrs yesterday, two female suicide bombers were halted to stop for routine check at Geleri village which is about 5km to Muna Garage, an outskirt of Maiduguri.”

“One of the suicide bombers detonated IED strapped to her body killing her and her accomplice whose IED vest did not explode.”

Isuku added that three residents were injured in the incident but normalcy had since been restored to the area.
