Receiving the items, the Deputy Comptroller of Prisons, Mallam Ubale Haruna, commended the state government for the gesture.

He pledged to make the best use of the items, adding that the items were donated on time because the inmates had started the cleaning of the prison in preparation for the rainy season.

Haruna, however, solicited the assistance of the state government in fumigating the prison, so as to complement the efforts of the inmates who just cleared the premises.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the donated items include wheel barrows, rakes, brooms, dusting brooms and disinfectants.
