Suspected kidnappers, alleged criminals paraded

About 25 suspected kidnappers were among 458 suspected criminals paraded on Friday, April 15 2016 by the police in Kaduna.

The arrival of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Ballah Nasarawa in Kaduna State has started yielding positive result.

AIG Ballah was recently relocated to Kaduna state by the Nigeria Inspector General of Police (IG) Solomon Arase over the spate of kidnapping and other crimes in the state.

"The following notorious kidnappers in Rigasa area of Igabi Local Government namely; , , , , and as well as some exhibits including a dane gun and some live rounds of ammunition were recovered from them and they are being interrogated,” the AIG, Ballah said adding that one Dauda Hassan, an alleged kidnapper was arrested in Kafanchan with a locally made revolver.", and Musa all suspected kidnappers, were apprehended in Mararraban, Jos Kaduna and another notorious kidnapper, who has been terrorizing Jere Local Government was also nabbed and is assisting us in our investigation,” Ballah said.

“, and were arrested while trying to kidnap one at Sabon Tasha, Kaduna while eight suspects: , , , , , , and were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of three Rev. Dr , Rev and Rev. .”

“, and were also arrested in connection with the case of the kidnap of Dr., the Executive Director of Dangote Group and recovering one AK 47 rifle with sixteen rounds of live ammunition, N105, 000.00, other foreign currencies, a motorcycle and three passport photographs of the victims were recovered from them,” the Police Chief said.According to him, "One and are also in the police custody over the case of the kidnap of   and who lost his life in the exchange of fire that ensured.”

The AIG disclosed that a team of investigators sent by the IGP, the Command's criminal investigation department and the military are working on the case of late Col. Samaila Inusa.

AIG Ballah said one Tukur Usman a cattle rustler was arrested on Thursday 14 April 2016 and 71 cattle with 38 Sheep were recovered from him.

“239 other suspects were apprehended in various raids carried out in some identified locations in the entire state. A total of 458 suspects are currently in our custody and are being interrogated and 5 AK47 rifles with many rounds of different types of ammunition have been recovered," Ballah added.On car snatching, AIG Ballah said one Bako Shaaban was arrested in Rigasa for trying to sell a 4- Runner Jeep with Reg No GGE AM which he snatched from Abuja.
