Here's what Saraki and President discussed in London

The Senate President said President Buhari appears to be healthy enough to return to the country soon.

The leader of the upper legislative chamber paid a visit to the president in London on Thursday, August 17, 2017, alongside Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

The Senate President disclosed the events that unfolded during that meeting later on Thursday in a series of tweeted on his Twitter page (@bukolasaraki).

He tweeted, "Mr. President exhibited remarkable recovery and was very conversant with all the political happenings back at home and across the continent.

"It was a meeting of substance where we discussed important matters of state. We also discussed the 2017 budget.

"In particular, we talked about the virement request by the Presidency which is before the National Assembly.

"We then considered the steps to be taken in the preparation of the 2018 budget to ensure its early passage.

"International issues were also discussed and Mr. President informed us that he has conveyed his sympathies to the people of Sierra Leone."

He also expressed his confidence that the president would soon return to the country due to his recovery from the illness that has kept him in London for 103 days.

He wrote, "It is clear that Mr. President's insistence on following his doctors' advice has yielded the desired results. I therefore confidently look forward to Mr. President's imminent return home."

President Buhari left the country on May 7 to resume treatment for an undisclosed illness in London, leaving Acting President Yemi Osinbajo in charge of the country's affairs.

The president has been welcoming visitors for the past few weeks, starting with two separate delegations of state governors, his communications team, as well as the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

His extended medical vacation outside the country has generated a lot of controversies and sparked protests that have demanded his resignation, and counter-protests that have supported him.

Although the president has said he is completely healthy and is only waiting for a clean bill of health from his doctors, there has been no confirmed date for his return.
