Group kills 31 people in Kaduna

An eyewitness who narrated the incident alleged that 46 houses were also burnt down by the herdsmen.

Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Kauru local government, Pius Bakam said “I can confirm to you that there were attacks on our communities, the casualty figure is over 30, the youth are still searching for more dead bodies. “

This is coming after a peace deal was brokered by the military between Fulani herdsmen and indigenes of Southern Kaduna.

The General Officer Commanding One Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Maj. Gen. Adeniyi Oyebade, had announced that the group and traditional rulers resolved to end hostilities.

According to Leadership, 46 houses in Kizakoro District in Chawai Chiefdom, Kauru local government of Kaduna State, were also burnt down by the herdsmen.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, youths under the aegis of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union marched to the National Assembly to protest the alleged killing of over 4,000 people by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
