Enugu police boss sacked over attack by group
Suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked the community on Monday, April 25, 2016, destroying properties and leaving over 40 people dead.

According to reports, Arase has sacked the Enugu state police commissioner, Nwodibo Ekechukwu.
Sahara Reporters say Ekechukwu was sacked over the recent killings in Uzo- Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu state, by people suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The ‘cattle rearers’ attacked the community on Monday, April 25, 2016,destroying properties and leaving over 40 people dead.
Vanguard also reports that the police chief’s sack was connected to a comment made by the Governor of the state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The Enugu state Governor said the security agencies were hinted of an imminent attack by the herdsmen, but nothing was done.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olabisi Kolawole also confirmed the development.
The new police commissioner of Enugu state is Emmanuel Ojukwu.
Ojukwu has served as the commissioner of police in Kogi state.
He was the Commissioner of Police, Eastern Port Command before his recent appointment.
