Fani-Kayode appeared before Justice Rilwan Aikawa and pleaded not guilty to money laundering charges.
The ex-minister’s trial was delayed after previous judge, Justice Muslim Hassan stepped aside in March.
Hassan excused himself from the trial because Fani-Kayode accused him of bias on the grounds that he had once worked as a legal officer for the EFCC.
Fani-Kayode is being tried along with former minister of state for finance, Nenadi Usman.
He has also asked for the case to be transferred to the Federal High Court in Abuja.
